Hutton le Hole is a popular moorland village with a range of gift shops and a good pub. Ice cream is renowned! The nationally famous Ryedale Folk Museum is much more extensive than it appears from the road and has all-age interest.

Nearby market towns are Kirkbymoorside and Pickering. From the latter runs the very scenic North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway.
The coast can be reached in under 45 minutes.
