Ground floor

Entrance to the house is usually by the 'Back Door', rather than the formal Front Door.

​

Entrance Boot Room

A large entrance hall with coat hooks and boot rack and space to allow the whole party to dress and undress for the outdoors.

​

Utility Room

The original back room allows overflow from the boot room and circulation. It has the telephone, WiFi router and the washing machine, with a large drying rack in the ceiling.

 

Accessible Toilet and Shower

Kitchen

The large farmhouse kitchen has a five burner gas stove, with a double gas oven and grill. There is a microwave oven, toasters, kettles .There is a double sink and ample kitchen equpment. There is one large domestic fridge freezer.

 

Walk-in Larder opens off the kitchen. This is where larger pans are found, and is the place for food storage as well. There is a slate-slab cool storage cupboard  (meat safe).

Scullery

Double washing-up sink and crockery cupboard, with more than enough plates, bowls, mugs, glasses and cutlery of various origins. There are NOT stemmed wine glasses.

'Edward' vacuum cleaner, two high chairs, two travel cots in understairs cupboard.

 

The Back Stairs go to first floor bathroom and bedrooms.

 

Quiet Room

This room is two steps down from the scullery. It was added to the house to be a nursery for the grandchildren. It is now offered as a quiet sitting room a little off centre from the main building. It has a small open fire and a French door to the garden with a small sheltered verandah.

Dining Room

The dining room of the original house design now has easy chairs around the open fire. The original dining table and chairs will seat up to a dozen.

 

Hall

The largest room of the original house. This is a dining space for a large party, at up to five drop-leaf tables. A seating area in the corner looks out over the garden.

Benches either side of a fireplace were originally a non-too-warm snug. It is now fitted with a radiant electric fire. There is a nice upright Challon piano.

 

The Main Stairs go to the first floor landing.
